Taking care of your joint pain is a process that may require one or more diagnostic and treatment steps – from taking x-rays or MRIs to a program of physical therapy to joint replacement surgery. When you go to the Bone & Joint Center in San Luis Obispo or Arroyo Grande, you have access to a comprehensive, end-to-end treatment facility that provides all these capabilities and more.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
At the Bone & Joint Center, you get a complete examination and diagnosis of your condition which may include MRIs (Magnetic Resonance Images) taken at Santa Rosa MRI, the Center's own facility. MRIs are performed by Marcia Thibault, a licensed MRI technologist, and are done by appointment so patients won't experience the long wait times they might at another facility.

Physical Therapy
Often joint pain treatment includes an exercise and fitness regimen. A comprehensive physical therapy treatment facility is available at our Arroyo Grande office. The Physical Therapy Center has a wide range of treatment equipment including a full Pilates gym. The Bone & Joint Center is unique in including a focus on Pilates, which is especially beneficial in increasing strength and improving flexibility.

Jackie Cabalka, the heart of our Physical Therapy Center, has been a licensed physical therapist for 13 years. She graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and went on to get her Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of California, San Francisco. Jackie recently completed her doctorate in physical therapy with a focus in Pilates based therapy, holds professional membership in the American Physical Therapy Association orthopedic and private practice sections, and is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance.

Dr. Ferro is the most personable doctor I've ever come across. He takes the time to really listen. He made me feel so comfortable that I felt like I could ask him anything. He recommended a ceramic hip replacement that was done in October of 2005. The result has been such a relief that I don't even remember the pain - it's been just incredible!
